Ecotrust is an organization that is focused on changing the food system in the West Coast toward more healthy and sustainable practices. Its key objectives are to improve public understanding of local agriculture and increase the market share of locally grown food. They have gone down many different paths to achieve this goal. One includes creating the first environmentally focused investment fund. This fund invests in programs and businesses focusing on environmental and food system change which aligns with the goals of Ecotrust.
